Cambodia and the World Bank are committed to continuing their cooperation on human capital development and in a number of priority areas, including education, health, agriculture, digital, environment and climate change.
The commitment was underscored by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Ms. Mariam J. Sherman, World Bank Country Director for Cambodia, Myanmar, and Laos in their meeting here at the Peace Palace this morning.
Ms. Mariam J. Sherman praised the progress in the cooperation between the World Bank and the Royal Government of Cambodia, which is strong and long-lasting, and informed the Cambodian Premier about the interconnectedness and consistency of the development policies, especially the Pentagonal Strategy-Phase 1 of the Royal Government of Cambodia, with the policy direction and key work of the World Bank at the global level as well as at the country (Cambodia) level.
For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet spoke highly of the commitment
of the World Bank to continue its cooperation with the Royal Government of Cambodia, especially the continuation of the World Bank Cambodia Country Partnership Framework 2025-2029.
The Prime Minister also briefed the World Bank country director on the launch of six priority policy programmes and five measures to improve the citizens’ living standard through building resilience, ensuring sustainable growth to achieve Cambodia’s 2050 vision of becoming a high-income economy.
