Cambodia topped 1st at the opening day of the 6th Southeast Asian Vovinam Championship in Phnom Penh on Mar. 27.
Cambodia won 9 medals – 5 gold, 2 sliver and 2 silver – followed by Vietnam (6 medals), Thailand (4 medals), and Myanmar (8 medals).
Taking place from Mar. 25 to 30 at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, the tournament of 30 disciplines attracted the participation of athletes from Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the 6th SEA Vovinam Championship, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, H.E. Mong Kimheng underscored that the event intended to measure the capacity of athletes, technical officials, arbitrators, and judges for the SEA Games 2023 in Cambodia.
