Cambodia to Host AWaP General Meeting Next Year

Cambodia has been selected by members of the Asia Wastewater Management Partnership (AWaP) to host the 4th AWaP General Meeting in 2025.

The decision was made during the 5th Meeting of AWaP Operation Committee organised by the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in Tokyo on Sept. 24.

At the same time, the AWaP Operation Committee Meeting also accepted the requests of Thailand and Bangladesh to become new members of AWaP.

Asia Wastewater Management Partnership was established in 2018 under the initiative of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan with six member countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Myanmar, the Philippines and Vietnam.

AWaP aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) target 6.3 by 2030, promote the mainstreaming of the wastewater management in Asia and partner countries efforts, and carry out mainstreaming of wastewater management by all stakeholders in each member country, sharing information necessary to spread waste
water management and make models to resolve challenges in order to promote each country’s efforts to achieve the SDGs by 2030.
