Phnom Penh: Cambodia will host the ASEAN Regional Disaster Response Exercise 2025 (ARDEX-25) in July. The announcement was made during a meeting at the Office of the Council of Ministers, led by H.E. Kittisangahapundit Kun Kim, Senior Minister and First Vice President of the National Committee for Disaster Management, on February 25.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Cambodia National Committee for Disaster Management will lead the exercise in collaboration with the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre). H.E. Kun Kim highlighted that ARDEX-25 is designed to strengthen and expand cooperation between ASEAN, the international community, and other key players in disaster preparedness and emergency response.
Cambodia’s involvement in past exercises includes participation in the ASEAN Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Exercise (ARDEX-16) in Brunei Darussalam, ARDEX-18 in Indonesia, and ARDEX-23 in Indonesia.
