Cambodia to Host 37th ASEAN-U.S. Dialogue in Siem Reap Province


Siem Reap: Cambodia will host the 37th ASEAN-U.S. Dialogue in Siem Reap province, home to the famous Angkor temples in April, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s news release. This important meeting will be held on April 21-22, 2025, to strengthen the cooperation under the ASEAN-U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, as Cambodia is the Country Coordinator of ASEAN-U.S. Dialogue Relation 2024-2027, it added.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the news release was issued on Friday last week after H.E. Kung Phoak, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ASEAN SOM Leader of Cambodia, received a courtesy call by Ms. Kate Rebholz, Charg© d’Affaires a.i. of the U.S. Mission to ASEAN at ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia.



The Office of the United States Trade Representative indicates that the U.S. has a robust trade and investment relationship with the ten countries that comprise the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). U.S. goods trade with ASEAN totaled an estimated US$476.8 billion in 2024. U.S. goods exports to ASEAN in 2024 were US$124.6 billion, up 16.6 percent from 2023.



U.S. goods imports from ASEAN totaled US$352.3 billion in 2024, up 13.3 percent from 2023. The U.S. goods trade deficit with ASEAN was US$227.7 billion in 2024, an 11.6 percent increase over 2023.
