Phnom Penh: The State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) is planning to conduct a large-scale incident simulation to prepare for potential accidents at Siem Reap Angkor International Airport on February 27. The initiative was unveiled by Mr. Seng Ravuth, SSCA Deputy Director, during a recent meeting in the city.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Mr. Bun Ratha, Director of Siem Reap Angkor International Airport, indicated that the drill is an integral part of the airport’s emergency management strategy. This exercise aims to streamline communication between relevant institutions and authorities and ensure the protection of people and property during emergencies or disasters.
Furthermore, the simulation is designed to prepare manpower, materials, facilities, and other resources for rapid deployment during such incidents, as stated by Mr. Bun Ratha. This proactive measure is crucial for all international airports to maintain adequate capabilities to manage and handle emergencies effectively.
