Cambodia, the U.S. Satisfied with Bilateral Relations and Cooperation

Cambodia and the U.S. have expressed their satisfaction with the progress in bilateral relations and pledged to enhance engagement to further strengthen their ties.

The satisfaction was made on Sept. 25 between H.E. SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and H.E. Kurt Campbell, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Both sides also discussed multilateral cooperation, particularly within the ASEAN framework, where Cambodia is taking on the role of country coordinator for ASEAN-U.S. Dialogue Relations for 2024-2027.

On the same day, H.E. SOK Chenda Sophea also met with H.E. Jean-Noël Barrot, newly appointed Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France.

The French Foreign Minister looks forward to meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister at the 19th Francophonie Summit in Paris next month, from Oct. 3 to 5.
