Phnom Penh: Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet this morning shared Cambodia’s stance over the world trade, stressing that the Kingdom supports transparent and fair trade.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, in his keynote address at the opening ceremony of the Cambodia-ASEAN Business Summit 2025, held in Phnom Penh under the theme ‘Accelerating ASEAN’s Connectivity: People, Infrastructure, and Trade,’ Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said as a member of WTO, Cambodia demonstrates a strong commitment to transparent and fair trade. He emphasized the country’s focus on creating a dynamic and integrated economic community through robust trade liberalisation and facilitation.
The Prime Minister highlighted Cambodia’s efforts in collaboration with ASEAN partners to dismantle and reduce trade barriers, streamline customs procedures, simplify business regulations, and establish transparent regulatory frameworks. Cambodia is actively pursuing open markets through strategic free trade agreements, aiming to provide preferential access to the ASEAN market and major global economies, including the EU, the US, China, Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also noted the importance of organizing business summits like the one held today to foster valuable collaborative opportunities. He stated that this approach demonstrates Cambodia’s dedication to deepening regional ties and creating an interconnected business ecosystem.
Within Cambodia’s business landscape, the Prime Minister underscored the value of partnerships between the government and investors, both international and domestic. He emphasized that Cambodia has prioritized open communication and fostered a dynamic and responsive environment by regularly organizing Government-Private Sector Forums.
