Cambodia, Singapore Vow to Boost Bilateral Investment Cooperation


Cambodia and Singapore are committed to fostering their cooperation in promoting bilateral investment by starting from priority areas for mutual socio-economic benefits.

The commitment was highlighted in the meeting between H.E. Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the Cambodian Investment Board (CIB) of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, and Mr. Kow Juan Tiang, Executive Director of Enterprise Singapore (ESG), in Singapore this afternoon while H.E. Chea Vuthy accompanied Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet for a two-day official visit (June 18-19) in Singapore.

The CIB secretary general laid stress on the possibility of working with ESG to boost investment cooperation to raise awareness of investment opportunities and potentials in Cambodia’s priority sectors such as automobiles and electronics, logistics, and agricultural processing, including rubber, cashew and cassava processing, etc. for domestic market and export.

Mr. Kow Juan Tiang emphasised the need to continue to strengthe
n investment cooperation between the two countries to encourage Singaporean companies to look into the possibility of investing in Cambodia in the agricultural processing, agri-food, and infrastructure construction and so on.
