SHANGHAI: The Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia has taken a significant step in promoting its premium products by bringing approximately 100 items to the International Level Exposition in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China. The showcased products include a range of items such as rice, cashew nuts, travel goods and bags, geographical indication products like Kampot pepper, honey, coffee, dried mango, herbal tea, tea, pepper sauce, prohok powder, palm sugar, palm sugar candy, palm sugar organic syrup, noodles, and recycled plastic.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, this event took place during the opening ceremony of the Cambodian National Pavilion, which was presided over by H.E. NAM Lynal, Under-Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce. The ceremony was part of the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE), held from November 5 to 10, 2024, at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre. The expo saw participation from 160 countries and ran under the theme ‘New Era, Shared Future.’
The Ministr
y of Commerce’s news release this evening detailed the construction of the 132 m² modern Cambodian National Pavilion, embodying the core design concept ‘Innovation leads the future, science, and technology light up life.’ The Pavilion is categorized into four distinct zones:
1. The Premium Cambodian Products Display Zone, showcasing about 100 products with premium packaging and high standards recognized both nationally and internationally.
2. The Performance Stage and LED Screen Zone, designed to disseminate information about Cambodia’s potential in economy, trade, investment, culture, arts, and tourism.
3. The Business Matchmaking Zone, which provides a platform for Cambodian enterprises to meet, discuss, and forge partnerships with international counterparts.
4. The Reception and Tasting Zone, offering business information and trade facilitation while allowing visitors to taste products like cashew nuts, Mondulkiri Coffee, MeeChiet (noodles), and rice.
In addition to this showcase, the Ministry of Comm
erce facilitated the participation of 11 Cambodian enterprises, allowing them to present their products at both the commercial area and the Cambodian National Pavilion at CIIE.
