Cambodia Shares Policy for Transport and Logistics Development at Global Sustainable Transport Forum 2024

H.E. Peng Ponea, Minister of Public Works and Transport, shared in China’s Beijing this morning the Royal Government of Cambodia’s policy, vision and achievements in transport and logistics development, at the Global Sustainable Transport Forum 2024.

Held under the theme of ‘Sustainable Transport: Logistics Connecting the World,’ the two-day (Sept. 25-26) forum was presided over by H.E. Li Xiaopeng, Chinese Minister of Transport, with the participation of transport ministers and vice ministers from 30 countries, and representatives of international institutions and private sector, according to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.

On the occasion, H.E. Peng Ponea briefed the forum about the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC)’s policy, vision and achievements under the wise leadership of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, in promoting sustainable transport and logistics development in order to enhance Cambodia’s connectivity, both locally and internationally, leading t
o the reduction of environmental impacts and transport and logistics costs, as well as the promotion of Cambodia integration into the region and the world, plus boosting competitiveness and economic diversification.

Organised every year in China since 2021, this year’s Global Sustainable Transport Forum is aimed to discuss and exchange view among representatives of governments, development partners, entrepreneurs and international organisations about challenges such as the emergence of new epidemics, climate change, development imbalance, and slowness in attaining SDGs.

It also discussed the strengthening of cooperation and partnership in transport field, and the necessity in building sustainable, resilient, inclusive, effective and safe transport system to achieve SDGs, as well as find methods and issue action plans and initiatives for cooperation in transport area.
