Cambodia Seeks PATA’s Support to Boost Tourism


Johor Bahru: The Ministry of Tourism has requested Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA)’s support in promoting the country’s tourism destinations to key markets within PATA’s network. Tourism Minister H.E. Huot Hak made this request when he received a courtesy call from Mr. Noor Ahmad Hamid, CEO of PATA, on Jan. 19, in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Minister sought PATA’s assistance in providing information sharing and ongoing collaboration, focusing on tourism trends, market demands, tourist preferences, and other relevant information in the context of Cambodia, ASEAN, and the world. H.E. Huot Hak also emphasised the importance of PATA’s support for capacity-building programmes in the tourism sector, particularly in areas such as digital tourism, marketing, and promoting Cambodia’s tourism.



In 2024, Cambodia welcomed some 6.7 million international tourists, marking an increase of 22.9 percent from 5.45 million in 2023. The largest number of foreign tourists visiting Cambodia were from Thailand, Vietnam, China, Laos, and the U.S.
