Cambodia Seeks ADB Support for Digital Asset Regulation

Phnom Penh: The Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC) is collaborating with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to craft a regulatory framework for digital assets in the nation.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during a virtual meeting on February 11, SERC Director General H.E. Sou Socheat and Deputy Director General H.E. Dr. Vin Pheakdey, who leads the regulator’s Fintech working group, engaged with ADB representatives. The primary focus of the discussion was on establishing a structured regulatory framework to promote growth and ensure stability in Cambodia’s digital asset market.

The collaboration with ADB aims to leverage the bank’s technical expertise and guidance, assisting Cambodia in addressing the complexities associated with digital asset regulation. The move indicates Cambodia’s proactive approach to integrating digital assets into its financial ecosystem while safeguarding its market’s integrity.
