Cambodia Ranks 4th at Asian Kickboxing Championships 2024


The Asian Kickboxing Championships 2024, hosted by Cambodia from Oct. 8 to 13, was successfully concluded.

As a result, host Cambodia won 33 medals, including 9 gold, 4 silver and 20 bronze-, and ranked 4th among the 23 participating countries across Asia.

Uzbekistan topped the medal table, with 20 gold, 5 silver, and 3 bronze; followed by Kazakhstan with 18 gold, 12 silver and 7 bronze, and Vietnam with 10 gold, 10 silver, and 11 bronze.

Addressing the closing ceremony, H.E. Gen. Khim Bunsong, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence, congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), the Cambodia Kickboxing Federation (CKF), and other stakeholders in organising the Asian Kickboxing Championships 2024.

The sport event significantly contributed to Cambodia’s sports sector development, and promoting the country’s culture and civilisation worldwide, he emphasised.

H.E. Gen. Khim Bunsong spoke highly of t
he regional tournament, stressing that it is crucial for all athletes to measure their capacity, exchange experiences, and strengthen the ties of friendship and solidarity among participating countries.

According to Mr. Heng Sokkhorn, President of CKF, the Asian Kickboxing Championships 2024 attracted the participation of some 600 athletes (165 women), 68 coaches, and 100 national and international technical officials, judges and arbitrators. The championships consisted of 102 events, of which 39 for women, and 63 for men.
