Cambodia Karate Federation Plans to Mark National Karate Day Annually

Cambodia Karate Federation (CKF) has planned to hold the National Karate Day every year in any Phnom Penh’s public square or other targeted provinces to inspire sports movement among the public.

The plan was revealed by Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth, Minister of Economy and Finance and CKF President while he was presiding over the CKF’s 9th Mandate 2020-2024 General Assembly, held at the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia Head Office recently.

This is part of CKF’s development, underlined the president, requesting all stakeholders to pay high attention to promoting the Karate Movement for All by inspiring the youths and the public to engage in training and playing sports for fun and health, establishing Special Karate Show Team with karate music and movements, and preparing video spots for broadcasting on social media and TV channels.

In addition, H.E. Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth insisted on the importance of technical development through continuing to strengthen professional training with
the organisation of karate workshops for professional coaches, referees and judges for all coaches at all the CKF member clubs, and being ready for all national team trainings, especially with foreign coaches.

He also laid stress on additional fund collection for the Karate Foundation with a principle of ‘saving and high innovation’.

On the occasion, H.E. Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth, who has earned 7th dan black belt, was reelected as President of the CKF for the 2024-2028 mandate.
