Cambodia, Indonesia Vow to Foster Bilateral Relations

The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Indonesia are committed to further strengthening and expanding their bilateral relations for mutual interest. The commitment was underscored during the meeting here at the Peace Palace this afternoon between Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and visiting Minister of Defence and President-elect of Indonesia H.E. Prabowo Subianto. In the meeting, H.E. Prabowo Subianto spoke highly of the good relationship and cooperation between the two ASEAN countries and praised Cambodia for her rapid and strong development in all domains. Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet congratulated H.E. Prabowo Subianto on his election as President of the Republic of Indonesia and reaffirmed his commitment to work with the president-elect to further boost the relations between the two countries. The Cambodian Premier highly valued the visit of H.E. Prabowo Subianto to Cambodia, emphasising that it will contribute to the development of relations and cooperation bet ween both nations and it is made when they are celebrating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties. The two leaders also exchanged views on the strengthening and expansion of bilateral cooperation in a number of potential areas, including economy, trade, defence and security, agriculture, and tourism, as well as the possibility of increasing direct flights between both countries.
