Cambodia, Indonesia Optimistic about Bilateral Relations and Cooperation


Cambodia and Indonesia are optimistic about the progress of their relations and cooperation and discussed the creation of communication mechanisms at all levels, in all domains, both formal and informal, and within government-to-government, private sector-to-private sector and party-to-party frameworks, which will contribute to the strengthening of their relationship.

Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Dr. Muhammad Jusuf Kalla, former Vice President of Indonesia and President of Centrist Asia Pacific Democrats International (CAPDI), expressed the optimism during their meeting in Jakarta, Indonesia on the evening of Oct. 19.

The meeting also touched on the enhancement of connectivity between the two countries through investor-to-investor relations, people-to-people contacts, and promotion of tourism, especially the promotion of better and richer connectivity between Cambodian and Indonesian major tourism destinations.

Besides, Samdech Thipadei Hun Man
et and H.E. Dr. Muhammad Jusuf Kalla exchanged views on regional and international issues, focusing on building peace, stability and prosperity in the region to ensure the development, growth and improvement of people’s living standards.

The Cambodian Premier took the opportunity to invite the CAPDI president to participate in the 12th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) as well as to attend the Water Festival in Phnom Penh next month.

Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister also recalled Indonesia’s key role in the peace-seeking and socio-economic development process of Cambodia in the 1980s and 1990s.
