Cambodia Hosts International Trade Exhibition to Boost Exports to UK.


Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Commerce held the 2024 Cambodia International Trade Exhibition at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre on November 18. The event is aimed at enhancing Cambodia’s exports to the United Kingdom and establishing business networks with British buyers.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the event was inaugurated by H.E. Mrs. CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, and saw participation from various stakeholders. In her address, the Minister praised the Cambodia Women Entrepreneurs Network (CamWEN) and other stakeholders for their efforts in organizing the event. The exposition focuses on promoting the export of textiles, apparel, and footwear to the UK by showcasing products and building connections with potential UK buyers.

H.E. Mrs. CHAM Nimul highlighted the strong and multifaceted relations between Cambodia and the UK, underpinned by friendship and cooperation in trade and investment. She noted the recent 2nd Joint Trade and Investment Forum in Phnom Penh, organized by the M
inistry of Commerce of Cambodia and the British Embassy, with the goal of enhancing bilateral trade and tackling current and future challenges to create a sustainable business climate for private sectors.

The Minister also discussed initiatives by the Ministry of Commerce to improve the business environment in Cambodia, focusing on trade facilitation, market diversification, promoting partnerships and dialogue, and improving rules and regulations.

In conclusion, H.E. Minister announced the upcoming Cambodia Trade Exposition (CTE), scheduled for December 13-16 at the PH Grand Hall in Phnom Penh. The CTE aims to feature Cambodian-made products, high-quality imports, and services by local and international providers.
