Cambodia Expects to Welcome 7.5 Million Air Passengers in 2025


Phnom Penh: Cambodia will do her best to attract some 7.5 million air passengers in 2025, an expected 20 percent increase compared to 2024, H.E. Dr. Mao Havannall, Minister in Charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA), said Wednesday. At the same time, he continued, Cambodia’s international airports are projected to handle up to 80,000 tonnes of air cargo.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Dr. Mao Havannall emphasized the role of air transport in promoting Cambodia’s tourism, business, trade, and socio-cultural connectivity with the world. He made these remarks while presiding over the closing ceremony of the SSCA annual meeting at the Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.



The minister noted that Cambodia currently offers direct flights to 12 countries and regions. In 2024, 31 international and domestic airlines operated a total of 58,354 flights to the Kingdom’s three international airports, marking a 14 percent year-on-year increase.



H.E. Dr. Mao Havannall highlighted that Cambodia also experienced a 40 percent increase in air cargo volume, reaching 77,800 tonnes last year.
