The Kingdom of Cambodia and the People’s Republic of China have vowed to bring their relationship to a new height, especially to further tighten their iron-clad friendship, their diamond cooperation and their comprehensive partnership.
The commitment was reaffirmed by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), and visiting H.E. Qu Qingshan, President of the Institute of Party History and Literature of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, during their courtesy meeting here at the January 7 Palace this morning.
H.E. Qu Qingshan spoke highly of Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s historic contribution to enhancing the relations between the two countries as trustworthy partners.
The CPC senior official added that even though this is his first visit to Cambodia, he noted the country’s peace, stability, freedom and development in all domains. He reiterated that China will continue to fully support Cambodia’s development path in line with the Kingdom’
s national conditions.
In reply, Samdech Techo Hun Sen extended warm welcome to the visit of H.E. Qu Qingshan and congratulated the CPC on the outcomes of the 3rd plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee in July 2024 as well as China’s modernisation, and believed that under the leadership of CPC and H.E Xi Jinping, China will see unceasing progress.
The CPP president took the opportunity to thank China for her assistance to Cambodia so far, underlining that it has not only contributed to the socio-economic development of Cambodia, but also strengthened her independence, which requires both countries to further promote this friendship.
Early on the same day, H.E. Qu Qingshan also paid a courtesy call on H.E. Kitti Sethapundit Cheam Yeap, Acting President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, during which they pledged to work together to build Cambodia-China Community of Shared Destiny and to further boost the bilateral trade.
This afternoon, H.E. Qu Qingshan gave a presentation on the outcomes of
the 3rd plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee to CPP officials.
