Cambodia, China Agree to Foster Cooperation in Various Sectors

Cambodia and China have praised their excellent relationship and are committed to further strengthening and expanding their cooperation in a wide range of areas in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks for the common interest of the two countries, the region and the world. In their meeting at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this afternoon, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and visiting H.E. Shohrat Zakir, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) of the People's Republic of China, agreed to foster the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, society, culture, tourism, education, vocational training, people-to-people exchanges, industrial and technological modernisation, expansion of Cambodian agricultural exports to China, Fish and Rice Corridor, and Industrial and Technology Corridor. H.E. Shohrat Zakir lauded the development of Cambodia, particularly Phnom Penh capital, and briefed Sam dech Thipadei Hun Manet on the fruitful outcomes of his meeting with Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia. For his part, the Cambodian Premier welcomed the outcome of the meeting between the two legislative bodies' leaders and thanked the Chinese government and people for their contribution to the socio-economic development of Cambodia.
