Cambodia exported a total of 412,023 tonnes of milled rice in the first eight months of 2024, earning a revenue of US$305million, the Cambodia Rice Federation said in a news release on Friday. Some 53 companies shipped milled rice to 64 countries and regions during the January-August period, the source said, adding that China remained one of the major buyers. Cambodia exported 77,792 tonnes of milled rice to China during the above-mentioned period, making a gross revenue of US$48.87 million, the news release said. At the same time, the Kingdom shipped 208,207 tonnes of milled rice to EU countries, generating US$161 million, as revenue, while 83,095 million tonnes others were sold to ASEAN countries, earning US$56 million. The varieties of rice exported comprise fragrant rice, white rice, parboiled rice, and organic rice, among others.
