Cambodian athletes have won three medals – a silver and two bronze – from the Special Olympics World Games 2023 held in Berlin, Germany from June 17 to 25, according to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS).

Miss Nuth Sophanna grabbed the silver medal in 100-metre running while Miss Hun Chanthol and Mr. Vibol Mongkul earned each a bronze medal from Bocce, the source pointed out.

The Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023, the 16th edition of the Special Olympics, attracted 7,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and unified partners (athletes without intellectual disabilities) from 190 countries to compete in 26 sports.

Organised every four years, the first Special Olympics World Games took place in 1968.
