Cambodia and Australia held their Fourth Senior Officials’ Talks (SOTs) in Phnom Penh on April 4 to review their cooperation in key areas.
The meeting was co-chaired by H.E. PRAK Nguon Hong, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Ms. Michelle Chan, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia.
The representatives from the relevant ministries-institutions and the Australian Embassy in Cambodia were also in attendance.
According to the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the 4th SOTs was held to review cooperation in key areas, including agriculture, trade, investment, tourism, culture, education, people-to-people exchanges, security, defence, and development cooperation.
Both sides expressed satisfaction and highly valued the continuous fruitful outcomes resulted from the long-standing relations since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1952,
and agreed to further enhance the existing cooperation for mutual benefit of the two countries, the source added.
In addition, the ministry pointed out, both sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern and agreed to convene the 5th SOTs in 2025 in Australia.
