Cambodia Attracts More Indonesian Investments

Cambodia has attracted more investments from Indonesia, asking them to seize new investment opportunities under the development of investment attraction policies mentioned in the investment law.

H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea, Minister Delegate Attached to the Prime Minister, Secretary General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia made the remarks in a meeting here on April 3 with a delegation from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by M. Arsjad Rasjid P.M., Chairman of ICCI and Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council 2023.

In the meeting, H.E. Sok Chendasophea, through the ASEAN-led mechanism, encouraged Indonesian investors to invest in Cambodia to seize new investment opportunities under the development of investment attraction policies mentioned in the investment law of Cambodia promulgated on Oct. 15, 2021.

The ICCI chairman expressed his willingness to encourage Indonesian investors to invest in Cambodia’s key sectors, either in the form of direct investment or through joint ventures with local enterprises or public-private partnerships.

The Council for the Development of Cambodia has received a total of 22 investment proposals from Indonesia worth about US$$69 million, focusing on the areas of industry, agriculture and services, as of March 2023.
