Cambodia and Sri Lanka Explore Opportunities to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation


Phnom Penh: Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, welcomed H.E. Ms. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, at the Peace Palace this morning.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Ms. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe expressed her enthusiasm for her diplomatic mission in Cambodia and delivered greetings from the leaders of Sri Lanka to Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet. The ambassador praised the enduring relationship between the two nations and committed to further strengthening this relationship by focusing on key areas such as trade, investment, education, and tourism.



Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet extended a warm reception to the Sri Lankan Ambassador’s mission, expressing optimism that her term would enhance bilateral relations and cooperation. He highlighted the historical ties and shared religious beliefs between Cambodia and Sri Lanka, noting the potential for collaboration in sectors like education and religious tourism. The Cambodian Premier encouraged the Ambassador to work closely with Cambodian ministries and institutions and to foster connections between private sectors in both countries.
