Phnom Penh: Cambodia and India are committed to fostering cooperation on labour and human resources sectors. The commitment was made in a meeting between H.E. Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, and H.E. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung, newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Kingdom of Cambodia, in Phnom Penh, on Feb. 25.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Heng Sour congratulated H.E. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung on his new role in Cambodia, expressing confidence that bilateral relations between the two countries will be further strengthened and expanded in all fields. The focus will particularly be on human resources development and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) during the ambassador’s diplomatic mission in the Kingdom.
The minister proposed the establishment of cooperation between India’s technical education and training institutions and Cambodia’s TVET institutions. This collaboration aims to develop human resources and build a recognized skilled workforce between both countries.
H.E. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung supported the minister’s initiative on TVET cooperation and expressed appreciation for Cambodia’s potential sectors that will help further deepen the relations and cooperation between the two nations.
