PHNOM PENH: Cambodia and China have pledged to enhance their collaboration in the realm of cybercrime prevention, a move aimed at bolstering the appeal of Preah Sihanouk province to foreign investors and tourists. The commitment was articulated during a meeting held earlier this week between the Governor of Preah Sihanouk province, H.E. Mang Sinet, and the Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, H.E. Wang Wenbin.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Ambassador Wang Wenbin expressed admiration for the swift progress observed in Preah Sihanouk province, particularly in infrastructure, economic growth, and tourism. He emphasized the enduring diplomatic and cooperative ties between Cambodia and China, highlighting the presence of Chinese consulates in Preah Sihanouk and Siem Reap provinces as a testament to their strong relationship.
The ambassador committed to fostering further collaboration between Preah Sihanouk province and regions in China, focusing on enhancing tourism prospects and facilitating the development of industrial and technological gateways. These efforts are expected to serve as catalysts for robust economic cooperation between the two countries.
Governor Mang Sinet welcomed the Chinese delegation’s visit, acknowledging the ambassador’s requests for visa exemptions for entry into Preah Sihanouk province. He assured that these requests would be communicated to the relevant authorities, reflecting the province’s openness to strengthening ties with China.
