Phnom Penh: H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Cambodian Minister of Environment, and H.E. Shovgi Mehdizada, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Cambodia, met on January 27 to discuss opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation in the environmental sector.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Shovgi Mehdizada highlighted the potential for collaboration between Cambodia and Azerbaijan in addressing environmental challenges. He emphasized the importance of joint efforts in climate change prevention, biodiversity conservation, and environmental protection.
H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth supported the ambassador’s views, agreeing on the need for increased cooperation in the environmental field. He shared information about Cambodia’s various environmental campaigns, including ‘Today, I do not use plastic bags’ and ‘Clean Cambodia, Khmer can do.’ These initiatives aim to promote environmental protection and sustainable development through a focus on cleanliness, greenery, and sustainability.
