Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Information of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in collaboration with China Media Group (CMG), the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Royal Academy of Cambodia, officially launched the broadcast of the programme ‘Classical Quotes Favored by Mr. Xi Jinping’ at Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh this afternoon. The event marks a cultural highlight during the state visit of H.E. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the ceremony was held in the presence of H.E. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information of Cambodia; H.E. Shen Haixiong, Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President and Editor-in-Chief of CMG; H.E. Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Cambodian Minister of Culture and Fine Arts; H.E. Hout Hak, Cambodian Minister of Tourism; and H.E. Dr. Sok Touch, President of the Royal Academy of Cambodia, along with other high-ranking officials.
In his remarks, H.E. Neth Pheaktra emphasised that 2025 is a significant year for Cambodia-China relations. Under the strategic leadership and wisdom of the leaders of both countries, the comprehensive strategic partnership between Cambodia and China continues to grow stronger and more dynamic. ‘Our shared mission is to enhance the exchange of ideas and perspectives,’ he said.
The minister highlighted the importance of the newly launched programme, ‘Classical Quotes Favored by H.E. Xi Jinping,’ produced by CMG. He noted that the show allows viewers to explore Chinese developmental philosophies and promotes deeper media cooperation between the two nations. Furthermore, it reflects practical collaboration under key bilateral initiatives such as the Diamond Cooperation Framework, the Industrial and Technological Corridor, and the Fish and Rice Corridor, aiming to foster cultural exchange across various sectors for the mutual benefit of both peoples.
He also expressed appreciation for the longstanding friendship between China Media Group and Cambodia, underlining the close cooperation in media exchanges, joint productions, and innovations in science and technology. The Cambodia-China Friendship Radio, a joint achievement by CMG and Cambodian media, has received strong public support and serves as a vital platform for enhancing mutual understanding between the citizens of the two countries.
H.E. Neth Pheaktra concluded by reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to supporting greater media collaboration between Cambodia and China, contributing to the building of a Cambodia-China Community with a Shared Future.
