Phnom Penh: Mr. Gagan Malik, a well-known Bollywood actor, has been appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador to the Ministry of Tourism in Cambodia. This appointment aims to enhance the promotion of Cambodian tourism globally, with a particular focus on Indian nationals.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Letter of Nomination was presented to Mr. Gagan Malik by H.E. Huot Hak, the Cambodian Minister of Tourism, during a meeting at the ministry on March 18. Mr. Malik expressed his gratitude on social media, stating, “Feeling honoured to be officially appointed as Goodwill ambassador to the Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia. Letter of nomination is given to me by the Honourable Minister of Tourism Mr. Huot Hak, Cambodia. Welcome to ‘SAFE CAMBODIA’.”
Mr. Malik praised Cambodia’s safety, beauty, and cultural heritage, highlighting Angkor Wat as a remarkable example. During the meeting, he also discussed his upcoming spiritual tourism package project, seeking support and recommendations from the Cambodian tourism minister. This project aims to attract tourists from various countries, especially India, to Cambodia during the Green Season.
H.E. Huot Hak expressed appreciation for the efforts to promote Cambodian tourism and acknowledged the importance of showcasing the country’s peace, security, and hospitality. He extended his support for the new tourism package project. Mr. Gagan Malik is renowned for his portrayal of Lord Buddha in the 2013 film ‘Sri Siddhartha Gautama’.
