Praya, Central Lombok (ANTARA) – The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has estimated the potential for meteorological drought in the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) region in early July of 2023.”Early July of 2023 is the dry season, (and that potential) could happen,” NTB Climatology Station BMKG forecaster Angga Permana noted in a written statement here on Saturday. During this dry season, he emphasized the need for people to be aware of the potential for drought that may occur in future. The community also needs to be aware of the potential for forest and land fires that can occur during this dry season period. He appealed to the public to make use of water reservoirs, such as ponds, to anticipate the dry season in NTB, especially in areas that frequently experience drought. “NTB people are urged to use water wisely, effectively, and efficiently,” he stressed.
