Asia Foundation Vows to Continue Partnership with Cambodia

The Asia Foundation is committed to continuing its partnership with the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) to contribute to the Kingdom’s socio-economic development, especially through support to the RGC’s strategic framework and key priorities.

The commitment was reaffirmed by visiting H.E. Ms. Laurel E. Miller, President and CEO of the Asia Foundation, when she paid a courtesy visit to Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet here at the Peace Palace this morning.

H.E. Ms. Laurel E. Miller also briefed the Premier on the Asia Foundation, which has been operating in 20 countries in Asia-Pacific in the past 70 years and on the progress of Asia Foundation-Cambodia partnership over the past 30 years.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet spoke highly of the partnership with the Asia Foundation for the development of Cambodia and shared the RGC’s priorities and perspectives within the framework of the Pentagonal Strategy-Phase 1 to turn Cambodia into an upper middle-income country b
y 2050.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of continuing to build human capital as a basis for promoting governance, growth and development in all areas, to which the Asia Foundation’s programme in Cambodia has been paying attention.

H.E. Ms. Laurel E. Miller shared the same idea with Samdech Thipadei over the significance of human capital development, and thanked the RGC for providing support and cooperation for the Asia Foundation’s staff.
