Angkor Silk Farm in Siem Reap province has reopened with one-month free entry for visitors after a four-year postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The free entry will last from July 1 to 30, according to Mr. Pav Eangkhoang, Director of Siem Reap Silk Handicraft.
Initially opened in 1994, the Angkor Silk Farm aims not only to promote the Khmer cultural heritage but also to generate job opportunities for the locals and attract more tourists to visit and understand the various stages of the silk-producing process.
It contributes essentially to preserving Cambodia’s ancient heritage and handicrafts, and it is providing jobs to over 400 local people, Mr. Pav Eangkhoang added.
He encouraged national and international tourists to support Khmer silk and visit the Angkor Silk Farm located at Chas village, Puok commune of Puok district.
