Airport in Koh Kong Province Conducts Flight Engineering Inspection


The US$200-worth Dara Sakor International Airport in Koh Kong province conducted a two-day flight engineering inspection and calibration on Sept. 29-30, 2024 as the operation of domestic small light aircraft flights is set in late November of this year.

A technical test was launched on Sept. 29 with the participation of H.E. Mao Havannall, Minister in Charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) and a representative of Dara Sakor International Airport Investment Company.

H.E. Sinn Chanserey Vutha, SSCS Secretary of State and Spokesperson, said that the test focuses on flight checks, air navigation equipment, radio communication with pilots and other technical parts.

“If nothing changes, the operation of the domestic small light aircraft flight at Darasakor International Airport may take place at the end of November,’ he said.

The airport, built on an area of over a 218-hectare in Botum Sakor district, Koh Kong province, with an investment of US$200 million in the first step, is invested by Ch
inese company Union Development Group.

Once in operation, the airport is capable of accommodating 4E aircrafts, from small to medium-sized aircrafts.
