Acting Head of State Satisfied with Cambodia-Indonesia Relationship

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of Cambodia, received here at the Senate Palace this afternoon H.E. Prabowo Subianto, Minister of Defence and President-elect of the Republic of Indonesia. Samdech Techo Hun Sen congratulated H.E. Prabowo Subianto on his election as President of the Republic of Indonesia and extended warm welcome to his visit to the Kingdom. He also thanked Indonesia for her active contribution to Cambodia's peace-seeking process. The Cambodian Acting Head of State expressed his satisfaction with the relations between the two countries, especially in the field of defence. Indonesia continues to help train Cambodia's military to maintain the country's peace as well as contribute to regional peace and stability, he added. For his part, H.E. Prabowo Subianto briefed Samdech Techo Hun Sen on the outcomes of his meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet. He revealed his intention to continue the cooperation between the two count ries, mainly in the economic sector and human resource training. H.E. Prabowo Subianto spoke highly of Samdech Techo Hun Sen's wise leadership, and invited him and Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet to attend his inauguration as the 8th President of Indonesia on Oct. 20, 2024. Both leaders also discussed the increase of direct flights between the two countries' major cities which will facilitate the people-to-people exchange, and the promotion of bilateral trade. Samdech Techo Hun Sen asked the Indonesian side to consider investing 100 percent in rice storage, milling and packaging for export to Indonesia and other countries. Besides, the meeting touched on regional situation, including the South China Sea issue and the Myanmar issue.
