As of May 14, Cambodia bagged in total 228 medals – 65 gold, 61 silver and 102 bronze – at the 32nd SEA Games, but its rank on the Medal Table dropped to No. 4, according to the latest update of the Cambodian SEA Games Organising Committee (CAMSOC).
Cambodia sits behind Vietnam which tops the list with 291 medals (106 gold, 90 silver and 95 bronze) and Thailand and Indonesia which occupy the second and third places with 243 medals (90 gold, 65 silver and 88 bronze) and 208 medals (67 gold, 61 silver and 80 bronze), respectively.
The Philippines was ranked fifth with 46 gold, 72 silver and 85 bronze medals while Singapore won the sixth place with 42 gold, 36 silver and 55 bronze medals.
Malaysia came in seventh with 28 gold, 41 silver and 78 bronze medals, followed by Myanmar with 20 gold, 19 silver and 58 bronze medals; Laos with 6 gold, 20 silver and 51 bronze medals; Brunei with 2 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze medals; and Timor-Leste with 8 bronze medals.
A 1,203-strong Cambodian delegation, including 896 athletes, have been taking part in the 32nd SEA Games that the Kingdom is hosting for the first time in 64 years under the motto “Sport: Living in Peace” from May 5 to 17.
Cambodia won only 63 medals – 9 gold, 13 silver and 41 bronze – in the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam in 2022.
