26 Japanese Investors Explore Agricultural and Industrial Opportunities in Cambodia.


Phnom Penh: A group of 26 Japanese investors have shown their interest to explore their investment opportunities in agriculture, food processing, and aquaculture in Cambodia. This group was received here at the Peace Palace this morning by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. TAKAHASHI Fumiaki, former Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia and current President of the Japan-Cambodia Association (JCA), led the delegation. He informed Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet about JCA’s efforts in promoting Cambodia as a potential destination for Japanese investment companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He reaffirmed JCA’s commitment to strengthening and expanding cooperation with the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) in industrial sectors and human resource development.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed his appreciation for JCA’s continuous efforts in enhancing Japan-Cambodia relations, particularly the conne
ctions between the private sectors of both countries. He acknowledged the significant contributions of the Japanese private sector in promoting Cambodia’s economic growth over the past decades. He also congratulated the JCA on the establishment of its office in Cambodia and the opening of three vocational training schools focused on automotive repair, plastic surgery, and IT engineering skills.

The JCA’s intention aligns with the strategic goals of the RGC to promote SMEs in Cambodia, aiming to form a production chain for both domestic and foreign markets. Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet highlighted the policies and measures implemented by the Royal Government of Cambodia to foster a competitive business and investment environment.

Regarding cooperation in the industrial sector and human resource development, Samdech Thipadei encouraged JCA to engage with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions to prepare a clear plan that matches actual needs.
