Cambodian Minister of Commerce H.E. Mrs. CHAM Nimul, ASEAN Economic Minister (AEM) for Cambodia, attended the 20th AEM-EU Trade Commissioner Consultation in Vientiane, Lao PDR on Sept. 19, as part of the 56th ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) Meeting and Related Meetings.
The meeting was co-chaired by H.E. MALAITHONG KOMMASITH, Minister of Industry and Commerce of Lao PDR and the AEM Chair for 2024, and Ms. MARIA MARTIN-PRAT, Deputy-Director General of Directorate-General for Trade Policy of the European Commission.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, the meeting is aimed to review and monitor progress of ASEAN-EU Trade and Investment Work Programme, and discuss the outcomes of ASEAN-EU Joint Working Group on Trade and Investment and their recommendations.
The participants exchanged views on regional and global economic development, and conducted dialogue with the EU-ASEAN Business Council in order to strengthen cooperation between private sector of the EU and the governments of the ASEAN member states.
