Cambodian Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen received here at the Senate Palace this morning visiting Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Lee Cheol-woo.
On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed warm welcome to H.E. Lee Cheol-woo’s visit to Cambodia, and expressed his appreciation over the Siem Reap-Gyeongsangbuk-do cooperation over the past 18 years.
H.E. Lee Cheol-woo briefed Samdech Techo Hun Sen on the background and achievements of his province, saying that it has just signed a sister-city alliance with Kampong Thom province of Cambodia.
Gyeongsangbuk-do will further enhance cooperation with Cambodia on industry, agriculture, culture, health and tourism, he affirmed.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen recalled the good relationship between Cambodia and the Republic of Korea in different fields, especial during the COVID-19 crisis.
The Cambodian senate president also expressed his support to the Republic of Korea’s Saemaul Undong (New Village
movement), and urged H.E. Lee Cheol-woo to help encourage Korean investors to invest in Cambodia, particularly in the areas of agricultural processing, electronic and machinery manufacturing and so on.
