Cambodia Ready to Accommodate AIBD’s Asia-Pacific Training Centre


Cambodia is ready to accept the proposal to establish a Training Centre for the Asia-Pacific Region in the country for regional capacity building and development in the field of information and broadcasting.

The readiness was confirmed by H.E. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information of Cambodia, at the closing ceremony of the 49th Annual Gathering/22nd General Conference of the Asian Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) and Associated Meetings in Malaysia on the afternoon of Sept. 1.

This is an effort of Cambodia to participate in capacity building in the field of information and broadcasting in the region to ensure the quality and efficiency of information dissemination and security for the public in this digital context, he underlined.

According to the Cambodian information minister, this training centre will not only contribute to capacity enhancement both in Cambodia and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region, but also become a professional institution contributing to raising the awarene
ss of people in the region to use information safely and responsibly.

This year, Cambodia holds the vice-chairmanship of the 49th Annual Gathering/22nd AIBD General Conference and Associated Meetings organised by AIBD with the participation of 60 representatives from 19 member countries.
