CamTech Summit 2024 has been taking place here at the Centre for Banking Studies (CBS) under the theme “Fintech for All: Impact and Sustainability” to promote digital technology in Cambodia.
The two-day event was opened on Sept. 18 under the presidency of H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC).
In her opening speech, H.E. Dr. Chea Serey spoke highly of CamTech Summit, saying that it offers a unique opportunity to bring together policy makers, business regulators and technology leaders across various sectors.
The event serves as a platform to share insights, exchange ideas, and jointly explore the opportunities and challenges of Fintech and technological advances. “We aim to provide policymakers with the knowledge they need to create regulations that can adapt to the rapidly evolving technological landscape,” she stressed.
Under the collaboration between the NBC and the Cambodia Association of Finance and Technology (CAFT), this Summit is aimed to provide stakeholders with op
portunities for sharing knowledge, experience, and insight related to the development trends of the fintech sector in Cambodia and beyond, said the NBC in a news release.
Activities of CamTech Summit 2024 include exhibitions, workshops, and panel discussions among expertise panelists focusing on the rapid development of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain, as well as the role of the Financial Transparency Corridor Project in promoting SMEs in Cambodia, the source pointed out.
